Looking for a contractor in Hoorn who knows the town? Bouwbedrijf R. Vlieland is based at Paardenweide 39 in Zwaag, which is itself part of the municipality of Hoorn. The centre is about ten minutes away by car. We work in the historic town centre, in the neighbourhoods built after the war and in the newer housing on the north side of town. That depends on the location, the size and the local zoning plan. An extension in the rear garden is more often permit-free than one at the front. Since 1 January 2024 the Environment and Planning Act applies, so check via the Omgevingsloket or with the municipality of Hoorn. For a listed building, most changes require a permit.
Yes. In old buildings repair is often better than full replacement. We replace the affected wood and make the frame sound and weathertight again. If the frame is beyond saving, we make a new one in the same profile. Also read about wood rot in frames.
