Medemblik is one of the oldest towns in West-Friesland, with town rights dating from 1289. Around the harbours stand historic buildings, warehouses and the medieval Radboud Castle. The municipality of Medemblik also includes villages such as Wervershoof, Andijk and Opperdoes. From Zwaag we are there in about 20 minutes. As a contractor in Medemblik we help with restoration and maintenance in the old town, and with conservatories, extensions and frames in the rest of the municipality.

Contractor in Medemblik for restoration in the harbour town

Buildings by the water have a hard time. Moisture rises in brickwork and woodwork, and wind and rain wear on facades and roofs. Good maintenance and restoration keeps such a building healthy. We first look for the cause of a problem, so the repair lasts.

If your home is a national or municipal monument, or stands in a protected townscape, many interventions require a permit. So consult the municipality early.

  • Repair of brickwork, pointing and facades
  • Woodwork and frames in the original style
  • Roofs, gutters and fascia boards watertight again
  • Consultation with the municipality on the permit

Renewing fascia boards and frames

Fascia boards and frames are often the first places where wood rot shows. On another project we replaced the fascia boards of a home with a thatched roof, and made a new frame with two French doors in place of an aluminium frame, see frame and fascia boards renewed. You can read roughly what such a job costs in fascia board replacement costs.

Conservatory or extension in the surrounding villages

Outside the old town and in villages such as Wervershoof there are many single-family houses with a garden. A conservatory adds a light extra room there that can be used for most of the year. You will find an indication under conservatory costs.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between repair and restoration?

With repair we fix what is broken. With restoration we return a building or component to its original state, using suitable materials and techniques. Listed buildings usually call for restoration.

Do you work with the same people from start to finish?

Yes. The same project manager oversees all the work on your project. For specialist work we bring in craftspeople from our network, but you keep one fixed point of contact.

Which places around Medemblik do you serve?

Among others Andijk, Bovenkarspel and the rest of the Enkhuizen region.
